USBC plans on hosting multiple events in the 2008-'09 academic year. The USBC encourages member input in the selection of events and speakers. If you have any ideas, contact us.
Events:
There will be two sports business employer sessions on Tuesday, October 7th. At 5PM, representatives from the NFL will be coming to talk about their summer internship and full-time programs. This will we in Huntsman G60. At 6PM, representatives from Dick?s Sporting Goods will be coming to Huntsman 265 to talk about their job and internship opportunities. I highly encourage those looking for a career in sports to attend both sessions if possible.

The USBC will be saw the 76ers take the Miami Heat on February 7th. The game was followed by an opportunity to meet Sixers President & GM Ed Stefanski.
The Undergraduate Sports Business Club hosted Kristie Pappal, HR Director of the Eagles, for a Sports Resume Workshop.
The WSBC held a Sports Media panel on November 27th. This was an incredible event featuring Ryan Donovan-VP of Marketing at Versus, Justin Shaffer-SVP of New Media at MLBAM, Chris Vollmer-VP Consumer Media Practice at Booz Allen, Clay Walker-EVP and GM of Fantasy Sports Ventures, and Michael Allen-Sr. Director of Digital Products at the NBA.
The Undergraduate Sports Business Club is currently working on marketing initiatives with Penn Athletics. Several meetings have taken place this academic year, but if you did not get a chance to attend, please send an email to ugsportsbusiness@gmail.com with your name, class year, and email address as well as mentioning your interest in this initiative somewhere in the email.
As a continuation of the Sports Camp; Entertainment Agent Panel, USBC members were granted access to an event with Arn Tellem on Nov. 7, President of Wasserman Media Group (WMG) Management. Mr. Tellem represents NBA stars Ben Wallace and Tracy McGrady and MLB stars Jason Giambi and Hideki Matsui, amongst others.
USBC hosted a Sports Camp; Entertainment Agent Panel on Oct. 25. Lloyd Remick of Zane Management and Michael Siegel of ESM Management will be coming to Penn to speak about their experiences as agents in the sports and entertainment industry. They will speak to the full array of services an agent provides to a client in sports or entertainment, as well as to how the two fields of representation differ.
USBC hosted Mitchell Modell, CEO of Modell's Sporting Goods, a leading sports apparel, sporting goods, footwear, and licensed goods retailer.
USBC presented Professor Scott Rosner, Lecturer at The Wharton School. Professor Rosner teaches LGST 207: The Sports Industry. He spoke at a Q&A and Luncheon Panel.
Eric Newman, HR Director of the Philadelphia Eagles, hosted a resume workshop for USBC members.
Michelle Girardi and Jamil Smith spoke to USBC members about their work at NFL Films and their internship program.
Meredith Theis, a former Wharton undergrad and current employee of Nike, came to Wharton to speak about the sports apparel industry.
Steve Charendoff of Rittenhouse Archives, a Philadelphia-based sports memorabilia company, had dinner and conversation with USBC members.
